One of my absolute favorite dog inspired blogs, PrettyFluffy.com, released their very first eBook today. “52 Weeks of Treats – Simple & Healthy Dog Treat recipes for Every Season” by Serena Faber Nelson with Sarah Dickerson. These two ladies filled this beautiful eBook with 26 amazing recipes just for dogs, absolutely gorgeous photos, and lots of super helpful tips and nutritional info. I didn’t waste a second and ordered mine right away. Go order yours too! It’s only $12.95 and it’s totally worth every cent. If I can find time before the Holidays are over, I’ll definitely get this loaded on the iPad while I make one of the recipes for my spoiled little Dee. I think the the festive Gingerbread Men might need to be made first. Once all the crazy Christmas orders are on their way, I’ll be making each recipe one by one to see what Dee likes best. She’s tired of her usual treats [who could blame her] so these will be the perfect solution!
Yesterday, as I started one of my newest custom pet portraits of a pretty little girl named Max, I decided it might be fun to record it. The video isn’t my finest piece of work but it shows you how I create these little treasures. The next video I do, I’ll be sure to start filming from the very beginning. I’ll also speed it up and get the music right. Is it just me or is it really loud?
Drawn in Adobe Illustrator using a WACOM Intuos3 tablet, captured using Adobe Captivate, and edited using Adobe Premiere. Free music found on freemusicarchive.org.
Okay, so if you don’t know already, I am OBSESSED with this dog. I don’t know what it is about him exactly, but I just think he is the cutest thing on the internet! I found Digby via Instagram when the app was first released to Android users a few months ago and his mom D and I have been chatting ever since. She is absolutely brilliant. Her captions are always funny, her costume ideas are always adorable, and her advice and wisdom are always delivered with excellence. It’s not often you find humans or dogs with such character and I look forward to transforming her photos into illustrated creations everytime. This time around, we showcased Digby’s bad side. ;]
Oh yes! An online assistant from Kansas. I found her via Twitter [of all places] last week and already she has me caught up with quite a bit of work. I’m so thrilled to have more time working on illustrations and she’s given me so many lovely ideas for the print shop. Danielle has a blog over at framedfrosting.blogspot.com and we’re going to unveil a new custom blog design for her very soon. I am also contributing a pre-made print of your choice for a giveaway on her blog so be sure to follow her for your chance to win!
6/2012 Update: I no longer have an assistant but I really enjoyed having her help while I did. She’s off doing big things with her blog and I while I’ll miss having her keep me caught up, I look forward to seeing where her blog goes.
